Soft Pretzels by author Beverly Lewis…

 2 cups water …
4 T. yeast dissolve in water
 2 T. butter melted and cooled a bit
 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 t. salt
 5 cups flour

METHOD:

  1. After yeast is dissolved mix in salt, sugar and butter with wire wisk.
  2.  Add flour.
  3. Mix well and knead. Let rise 15 minutes
  4. Divide dough into small balls, roll into a rope and twist into a pretzel.
  5. Mix 1/8 c. soda into 1 cup warm water.
  6. Dip each pretzel into soda mixture.
  7.  Place pretzel on cookie sheet and sprinkle with pretzel salt.
  8. Bake at 350 – 400 until golden brown. Dip into melted butter!
